INCENSE...

Outside of the powers of aromatherapy, INCENSE sets the stage for
success in many magikal rituals.  It attracts influences from the
spiritual planes. Eastern and western religions alike use incense in
their religious ceremonies.

People light a stick of incense to help them meditate. Purifying your
home environment in Feng Shui uses incense, among other things.
Incense is made from herbs and essential oils. Shamans burn sage,
cedar, or sweetgrass to purify themselves and their tools.

It really does not matter if you use incense in powdered form, cones
or sticks. You are using incense to set a particular atmosphere.
